Avistar 2026, the largest event for birdwatchers and nature observers in Latin America, will take place from May 15th to 17th at São Paulo’s Botanical Gardens. The 2026 edition will celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary, and João Paulo will participate with two talks, on May 16th and 17th.

On May 16th, at 1:30 PM in the Master Auditorium, João Paulo will present the lecture “Forest of Waters: 10 Years Documenting the Wild Amazon,” which will focus on the recently released production on Animal Planet that shows the wildlife of the southern Amazon rainforest.

On May 17th, João will give the talk “Photographing and Filming Birds: 10 Essential Tips,” which will take place in the Observaí forum at 2:00 PM. In this presentation, João will talk about techniques and tips for taking pictures of birds in nature. This lecture will be held in conjunction with Canon Brazil, which has been a partner of João Paulo for many years, and will include equipment demonstrations and a raffle of prizes from the brand.

Avistar 2026 takes place at the São Paulo Botanical Garden. Admission to the event is free, but tickets are required to enter the Botanical Garden. Registration for Avistar is available on the website https://proevento.shop/avistar2026/.
